A ROMANTIC ELOPEMENT IN ROME

THE LOVE STORY OF PAYAL AND NIKESH

Meet the wonderful Payal and Nikesh! This very young couple, originally from India but living in London, got married just days before we met them. After their London wedding, they flew straight to Rome. Their dream? To have beautiful, romantic wedding photos taken not just in London, but also on the charming streets of this ancient and famous city, Rome, by a Rome elopement photographer. They wanted that special Italian feeling in their pictures.

Our photo adventure started very early one March morning. We met Payal and Nikesh right by the incredible Colosseum as the city was just starting to wake up. It wasn’t a bright sunny morning; the sky was actually a bit cloudy. But this gave the light a soft, gentle quality, making everything look peaceful and maybe even a little mysterious. Rome felt quiet and almost empty, which was amazing. Having this huge, historic monument practically to ourselves felt really special. The cool morning air and the soft, cloudy light created a beautiful atmosphere for their first photos as newlyweds in Rome.

From the Colosseum, we started a relaxed walk towards the famous Trevi Fountain. Along the way, we explored the lovely cobblestone side streets and little squares (piazzas) that make Rome so unique. Rome is full of perfect photo spots around every corner! We stopped often, capturing Payal and Nikesh simply enjoying the moment – holding hands, laughing together, looking at the beautiful old buildings. It felt like we were discovering hidden parts of the city together.

Payal and Nikesh were just so lovely to photograph. Their love for each other was easy to see and feel. It showed in the quiet way they looked at each other and in their happy smiles and laughter. They were so natural and sweet together, radiating happiness. It was a real joy capturing their connection in such a romantic city.

They had one special request for their Rome photos: they really wanted pictures inside Palazzo Altemps. This beautiful old palace is famous for its amazing collection of paintings and ancient statues, and especially for its stunning inner garden area, called a courtyard. Sometimes taking photos inside historic places needs special arrangements. However, we were really happy when we spoke to the friendly staff at the Palazzo Altemps entrance. They kindly gave us permission to take photos inside just by purchasing the regular entrance ticket. It was wonderful that we could make this wish happen so easily for Payal and Nikesh!

Inside Palazzo Altemps, it felt like stepping into another world. It was grand and peaceful. We took some truly unique photos of Payal and Nikesh surrounded by incredible art and history – the old statues and paintings made a fantastic backdrop. The highlight was the beautiful hallway with painted arches looking down onto the quiet courtyard. The light there was soft and perfect. It was exactly the elegant and special location they had dreamed of.

That morning was busy, starting so early and walking quite a bit, but it was incredibly rewarding. Creating these photos for Payal and Nikesh made us feel really happy. Meeting wonderful people like them is always a huge bonus of our job. We love learning about different people and cultures, and sharing these important moments feels like a privilege. We won’t forget our adventure in Rome with this sweet couple.
