A GLAMOUR ELOPEMENT IN VENICE
THE LOVE STORY OF EMILY AND THOMAS
Emily and Thomas didn’t want a big, traditional wedding with lots of guests. They wanted something different, something small and very personal, just for the two of them. So, they decided to have an “elopement” in Venice, Italy. An elopement is like running away together to get married, but they planned this special escape carefully! Venice was the perfect choice – it’s known all over the world as a city full of romance, with beautiful canals, little bridges, and amazing views everywhere you look. It was the perfect place for their love story.
They wanted their special day to feel fresh, real, and happy. Emily had an idea she called “glamour.” For her, this meant she wanted things to look stylish and beautiful, but also fun and full of life – not too serious! This idea was especially important for her wedding dress. She didn’t want a long, typical wedding dress. Instead, she found a talented person in Venice who makes clothes by hand. This person made Emily a dress that was short, simple, and really pretty. It was elegant, but also playful and fun. The dress was perfect because it really showed off Emily and Thomas’s young, happy style as a couple.
This happy, real feeling was also the main goal for their wedding photos. As their Venice wedding photographer, we didn’t want pictures where they just stood still and smiled stiffly at the camera. No, we wanted photos that showed them moving, laughing, talking, and just being themselves. We planned to explore the city together, finding special little corners and beautiful spots for pictures. We wanted to capture the true feeling of their day and create photos that would help them remember this incredible adventure forever.
Their wedding day started in a nice little hotel in Venice. It wasn’t a huge, fancy place, but it was cosy and cool. It had a modern style, but also some older, interesting furniture, and the rooms had bright, cheerful colours. It felt comfortable and welcoming. This is where they both got ready.
After that, we went out into the city to start their photo journey! We walked through the narrow, winding streets of Venice. In Italian, these little streets are called ‘calle’. Every time we turned a corner and saw something beautiful – a colourful building, a pretty window, a quiet canal – we stopped to take pictures of Emily and Thomas sharing a smile or a kiss. We stopped in front of interesting shop windows full of colourful glass or masks. We waited on little bridges as the famous Venetian boats, the gondolas, floated quietly underneath.
We also found some really unique photo spots! The owner was very kind to give us permission to take some amazing pictures inside the beautiful and historic Farmacia Ponci in Santa Fosca. It was such a cool, different backdrop! And of course, we couldn’t miss taking lots of photos at the famous Rialto Bridge!
Our walk was leading us towards the huge, famous main square, Piazza San Marco, but we enjoyed every step of the journey, taking photos near famous places that were special to Emily and Thomas.
We even went inside Caffè Florian, which is one of the oldest and most famous coffee houses in all of Venice! The staff here were also very kind and gave us permission to take photos inside. It felt like stepping back in time, and we captured some very romantic moments there.
Their wedding wasn’t just about the beautiful city, though. It was really a celebration of their love – modern, stylish, but also fresh and relaxed. The whole day was filled with so much laughter, quick, stolen kisses, and moments of pure, natural happiness. From Emily’s beautiful and unique short dress to Thomas’s cool and relaxed style, everything about the day really showed who they are as a couple. It was personal, intimate, and full of joy.
We also have to give a big thank you to the wonderful wedding planner, Vanessa Lanzafame. She did an amazing job! Vanessa carefully organized every little part of the day. She helped with the beautiful flowers, the details of the dress and accessories, and she planned the perfect route through Venice for all the photos. She made sure everything went smoothly and easily, so Emily and Thomas could just relax and enjoy their perfect, unforgettable day.
